RAMALLAH, October 12, 2026 (WAFA) – The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission stated—in a preliminary tally based on field reports—that 219 attacks carried out by colonists and the Israeli occupation army were recorded between October 1 and October 12. Of these, 136 incidents were linked to the olive harvest season.
The Commission explained that colonists carried out 177 of these incidents, while 42 involved the direct participation of both the occupation army and colonists. The attacks included assaults on citizens, their homes, and their vehicles; the destruction of property, infrastructure, land, and crops; and threats against Palestinian communities. Additionally, three citizens have been killed by colonists since the beginning of the month.
It noted that the incidents linked to the olive harvest season included 92 cases of direct attacks on olive pickers or the obstruction of citizens from accessing their lands and harvesting their crops. Of these, 59 attacks were carried out by colonists, 19 involved the joint participation of the occupation army and colonists, and 14 were carried out by the occupation army alone. An additional 45 incidents involving the theft of olive crops or the destruction of trees were recorded. The attacks ranged from beatings, expulsion, intimidation, and the use of gunfire and tear gas to arrests, alongside the theft of produce and harvesting equipment and the vandalism of trees—actions that inflict damage on farmers and restrict their access to their lands and their ability to complete the harvest season.
A comparison of attacks across successive olive seasons reveals a marked escalation: the number of incidents rose from 136 in 2022 to 333 in 2023, then to 407 in 2024, and exceeded 441 in 2025.
This escalation reflects the widening scope of attacks targeting farmers and their crops, transforming the harvest season into a recurring arena for violence, restricted land access, and the undermining of livelihoods. These actions intensify pressure on the Palestinian presence in the targeted areas and pave the way for the expansion of colonial control over them.
