General Supervisor of Official Media discusses enhanced cooperation with Arab information ministers and briefs them on latest developments

AMMAN, October 11, 2026 (WAFA) – General Supervisor of Official Media, Minister Ahmad Assaf, discussed with several Arab media officials ways to strengthen joint media cooperation and coordination to support the Palestinian cause and convey the suffering of the Palestinian people to global public opinion.

On the sidelines of the fourth edition of the Future of Media and Communication Forum—held in the Jordanian capital under the slogan 'A Changing World'—Minister Assaf held bilateral meetings with Jordan’s Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Al-Momani and Lebanon’s Minister of Information Paul Morcos. He also met with Syria’s Minister of Information Khaled Zaarour and the Chairman of Egypt’s National Media Authority, Ahmed El-Moslemany.

Minister Assaf briefed the Arab officials on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory and the crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, as well as the escalation of colonization and colonists’ attacks and terrorism in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

He stressed the importance of keeping the Palestinian cause at the forefront of Arab and international media coverage and ensuring that global public opinion is informed of the reality on the ground.

Minister Assaf also outlined the difficult conditions under which Palestinian journalists operate and the violations they face while carrying out their professional duties. He noted that more than 260 Palestinian journalists, both men and women, have been killed in targeted attacks by Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since October 7, 2023.

He praised the positions of Arab countries and media institutions in support of the Palestinian people, commending the role of Arab media in conveying their suffering and highlighting the violations they face. He stressed the importance of continuing and strengthening joint media coordination.

The meetings also addressed the importance of exchanging expertise and experience among Arab media institutions and developing media tools to keep pace with rapid digital transformations, particularly the growing influence of social media platforms and artificial intelligence.

Assaf reaffirmed the commitment of Palestinian official media to continued cooperation with Arab media institutions and to expanding coordination and knowledge-sharing in order to support the development of media work and strengthen the presence of the Palestinian cause across Arab and international media.
