JENIN, October 12, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces installed three iron gates on Monday at the entrances to the town of Ya'bad and on roads leading to the villages of Kufeirit and Kufr Qud, southwest of Jenin. This move is part of a policy to impose restrictions on residents and limit their freedom of movement.
The Ya'bad Municipality stated that occupation forces installed gates at the southern entrances to the town and neighboring villages, in addition to an iron gate on the western side of Ya'bad that has remained closed for over 20 days.
The municipality explained that these gates pose a danger to residents' lives and exacerbate their daily suffering by hindering travel to and from the town, delaying access to workplaces, schools, and health facilities, impeding the movement of ambulances and emergency cases, and deepening the isolation of the town and its surrounding villages.
These measures are part of a recent policy adopted by the occupation forces involving the installation of iron gates and the closure of entrances to villages and towns across the Jenin Governorate, thereby restricting citizen movement and imposing collective punishment on local communities.
Previously, the occupation forces had installed more than ten iron gates at the entrances to villages and towns east of Jenin along the bypass road, causing further obstruction to residents' movement and increasing their daily hardships.
