JERUSALEM, November 1, 2026 (WAFA) – The northern entrances to Jerusalem are experiencing severe traffic congestion and a massive buildup of vehicles this Sunday evening, caused by intensified restrictions and measures imposed by Israeli occupation forces at military checkpoints.
Local sources reported heavy traffic in the vicinity of the Qalandia checkpoint and the "Fruit Roundabout" (Dawwar al-Fawakih) in the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, as a result of the occupation’s restrictive measures on the movement of Palestinians.
Stricter measures at the Shu’afat refugee camp military checkpoint have also led to traffic congestion and a backlog of vehicles. Meanwhile, occupation forces set up a checkpoint at the entrances to the town of Hizma, north of Jerusalem, further obstructing traffic flow and causing vehicle gridlock.
The traffic crisis at the Qalandia checkpoint persists, leaving citizens to endure significant hardship and delays in reaching their destinations.
