RAMALLAH, November 1, 2026 (WAFA) — Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met today at his office in Ramallah with the European Union Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Christophe Bigot.
The discussion focused on the situation in the Palestinian territories, amid the ongoing war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, the escalation of occupation measures and settler attacks in the West Bank, and Israel’s continued withholding of Palestinian tax revenues for the eighteenth consecutive month.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of collaborating with international partners—foremost among them the European Union—to help stabilize the Palestinian territories and create a political and economic horizon for the coming period, in light of the mounting challenges facing the Palestinian people.
Mustafa also briefed the EU representative on the progress made in implementing the government’s reform program, noting that efforts are underway to complete it by the end of this year. He underscored the necessity of continued international financial support to assist the government during these difficult financial and economic circumstances.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister stressed the need to sustain the delivery of essential services to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip—particularly in the health and education sectors—while providing as many other services as possible.
He also highlighted the importance of supporting field interventions aimed at early recovery and restoring the basic necessities of life, as a precursor to future reconstruction efforts.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance and Planning Stephan Salameh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Omar Awadallah, Advisor to the Prime Minister for International Relations Ambassador Izzat Abdulhadi, and the European Union Representative to Palestine, Andreas Fiedler.
