Israeli occupation forces detain three journalists north of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, December 6, 2024 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces detained three Palestinian journalists on Friday evening near the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli forces detained the journalists — Motassim Saqf al-Hayt, Mo'men Samreen, and Hatem Hamdan — after assaulting them at the entrance to Sinjil.

The same sources confirmed that in addition to the three detained journalists, four other journalists were also held for a short period. They were released later, though they too were subjected to abuse. The journalists released include Kareem Khameisa, Hadi Sabarneh, Mahmoud Khelaf, and Mohammad Awad.

This incident is part of an ongoing pattern of harassment and detentions by Israeli occupation authorities targeting journalists working in the occupied Palestinian territories, where media professionals often face restrictions on their freedom to report.
