GAZA, Wednesday, May 8, 2024 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities shut down again Karm Abu Salem crossing after the entry of one fuel truck for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA), and after a closure period that lasted four days.
Sources reported that the occupation authorities closed the crossing after the fuel truck entered.
UNRWA denied the occupation army’s allegations that it had reopened the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, according to its spokeswoman, Juliet Touma, who said, “The two crossings are closed, and we demand their reopening,” noting, “We usually get fuel through Rafah, not through Karm Abu Salem .” ".
She added, "Humanitarian aid has not arrived during the past three days. We have begun rationing fuel, and the daily needs for humanitarian purposes reach 300,000 liters of fuel."
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini wrote in a post on X yesterday that the crossings must be reopened without any delay.
The Palestinian death toll from Israel's deadly aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7th, 2023, has now surged to 34,789, medical sources confirmed this morning.
The sources added that at least 78,204 others have also been injured since the beginning of the onslaught.
