HEBRON, November 3, 2026 (WAFA) — An elderly woman was shot and her husband was severely beaten by colonists on Tuesday in the town of Al-Shuyukh, northeast of Hebron, in the southern West Bank.
Ahmad Munir Al-Halayqa, a media activist in Al-Shuyukh, told WAFA that 53-year-old Zarafa Ayayda was shot in the foot with live ammunition, while her husband, 60-year-old Jawdat Hussein Ayayda, sustained facial injuries after being beaten with clubs. The incident occurred while the couple was harvesting olives in the Wadi Abu Safar area of the town.
Al-Halayqa added that the assault involved gunfire and the theft of the olive harvest from the residents' land. He noted that the couple was transported to a hospital for treatment; their injuries are described as moderate. This incident comes amid ongoing attacks by colonists against Palestinian residents and their property in the area.
