Israeli authorities notify Palestinian to evict his land in Salfit

SALFIT, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation authorities notified today evening a Palestinian resident to evict his privately-owned five dunums of land in the Khalat al-Qamh area, north of Kafr Ad-Dik, west of Salfit in the West Bank.

The landowner, Saleh al-Shinnar, said that the notification order, which gave him 72 hours to appeal the decision, included the uprooting of 60 olive trees that he planted on the threatened land.

Al-Shinnar added that the occupation authorities attached the notification with a map of the site and the area declared for the eviction, under the pretext of being located in area "C" of the West Bank, which is under full Israeli rule, and citing its proximity to the "Aali Zahav" settlement, built illegally on Palestinian lands.

Meanwhile, Salfit Governor Abdullah Kamil stressed the need to support farmers, enhance their steadfastness on their land, and put in place mechanisms to develop the agricultural sector in the targeted areas.
