RAMALLAH, September 8, 2026 (WAFA) - Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh welcomed on Tuesday the statement issued by the foreign ministers of 12 countries on the two-state solution and the steps it included to impose restrictions on trade in Israeli colony goods.
Al-Sheikh stated that what is required is to move from condemnation to binding and decisive measures that halt colonial settlement expansion and the de facto annexation of West Bank territory, ensure respect of international law and UN as well as UN Nations Security Council resolutions, and hold perpetrators of Israeli colonist terrorism and violence accountable.
He pointed out that the advancing by the Israeli government of colonial settlement plans, particularly the E1 project, threatens to fragment the Palestinian Territory and sever the northern West Bank from its southern part, seriously undermining the possibility of establishing a contiguous Palestinian state.
He stressed that protecting the two-state solution means safeguarding the Palestinian Territory from annexation, colonial settlement expansion and colonist terrorism, ending the occupation, and translating international law into action in a manner that ensures regional and international stability and security.
