JERUSALEM, September 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the Republic of Nauru’s opening of an embassy in Jerusalem, describing the move as unacceptable and a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad al-Majali said on Tuesday that any measures or decisions aimed at changing the status of Jerusalem or its legal status are null, illegitimate and unlawful.
Al-Majali reaffirmed that the only path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region is the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
