NABLUS, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 (WAFA) – A Palestinian activist today called on Palestinians to en masse confront an upcoming settlers’ march in the northern West Bank district of Nablus.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors Israel’s colonial settlement activities in the northern West Bank, called on Palestinians to forestall a provocative settler march organized by the so-called Samaria Regional Council.
The march, scheduled today at 6:00 PM, is scheduled to set off from Zaatara checkpoint to Huwara checkpoint in the northern West Bank district of Nablus, under the slogan of “We want a Jewish state.”
Daghlas cautioned against the uptick of settler attacks against the Palestinian people and their property, particularly in areas adjacent to colonial settlements.
Israel uses the Jewish nationalist name “Judea and Samaria” to refer to the occupied West Bank to reinforce its bogus claims to the territory and to give them a veneer of historical and religious legitimacy.
There are over 700,000 Israeli settlers living in settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
