Trees uprooted, land razed in southern West Bank village

BETHLEHEM, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces today razed agricultural lands, uprooting dozens of olive and almond saplings, and demolished retaining walls and a water reservoir in the town of Battir, west of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to local sources.

They told WAFA that an Israeli army force, accompanied by a bulldozer, stormed an area of the historical village and began razing agricultural lands with an area of ​​about 40 dunums, uprooting trees and demolishing retaining walls and a water reservoir.

The bulldozer also destroyed an agricultural road.

Local sources added that the occupation forces also tore down a tent in the Makhroor area in Beit Jala, west of Bethlehem, belonging to a local resident.
