President Abbas Felicitates US Elect President Obama

 

 

BUDAPEST, November 5, 2008, (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas felicitated, Wednesday the newly elected President of the United States Barack Obama for winning the US presidential elections.

 

The Presidency Spokesman, Nabil Abu Rdeinah said that President Abbas looks forward to working with the new US Administration to accelerate the peace process, and achieve security and stability in the Middle East.

 

In Ramallah, the US Consul General in Jerusalem, Jake Walles said that the American Elect President, is committed to the peace process in the Middle East, He added, “Obama’s mission is not simple, we are going through two wars, and a financial crisis.”

 

Walles mentioned that Obama has been twice to Ramallah, describing these elections as being “historical from many aspects”. He explained that this is the first time an American from African origins is elected president, pointing that Elect President Obama was a “humble man” while his Republican rival, John McCain was brave.
