SALFIT, April 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continued to close the northern entrance to the town of al-Zawiya, west of Salfit, for the fifth consecutive day, exacerbating the suffering of residents and disrupting their daily lives.
Local sources reported that the closure of the main entrance to al-Zawiya has caused significant difficulties for residents, especially students and teachers, and has directly impacted patients by hindering their access to health centers in a timely manner. Merchants and business owners have also incurred economic losses due to the disruption of commercial activity.
The northern entrance to al-Zawiya is a vital road connecting several areas in the northern, central, and southern West Bank, making its closure a near-complete paralysis of daily life.
The al-Zawiya municipality and local institutions appealed to official and human rights bodies to intervene urgently and pressure the occupation authorities to reopen the entrance, lift the restrictions imposed on the town, and alleviate the suffering of its residents.
