BEIRUT, April 13, 2026 (WAFA) – The Lebanese Ministry of Health's Emergency Health Operations Center reported Monday evening that the death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks since March 2 has risen to 2,089 people, with 6,762 others wounded.
Israeli forces continued their drone strikes targeting multiple areas in Lebanon, resulting causing further casualties and widespread destruction to buildings and infrastructure.
Israeli warplanes and artillery targeted the cities of Tyre and Nabatieh, and the towns of Kfar Rumman, Qantara, Tibnin, Jouya, Bint Jbeil, Shoukin, Kfar Sir, Shaitiya, Qalila, Majdal Zoun, Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, Shaqra, Zibqin, and Mansouri in southern Lebanon, in addition to the towns of Mashghara and Sahmar in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon.
Furthermore, Israeli fighter jets shelled dozens of houses in the town of Shamaa, while Lebanese airspace witnessed intensive overflights by warplanes and drones, reaching as far as the capital, Beirut.
In a related development, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) expressed its deep concern over the continued targeting of humanitarian and medical personnel in Lebanon, including the killing and wounding of first responders while carrying out their humanitarian duties.
Among the victims was Lebanese Red Cross volunteer Hassan Badawi, who was killed while on a humanitarian mission in the Bint Jbeil district. A Lebanese Red Cross center in the Tyre district was also damaged in the airstrikes.
The ICRC reiterated its urgent appeal to all parties to adhere to international humanitarian law, ensure the protection of humanitarian and medical personnel, medical facilities, and ambulances, and facilitate safe and unimpeded access for emergency teams to the wounded, enabling them to continue providing life-saving services.
