JENIN, September 12, 2026 (WAFA) – A Palestinian man was shot and wounded on Saturday by Israeli s residents of Fuqoua, east of Jenin, confronted Israeli settlers attacking Palestinian-owned land in the area.
Barakat Al-Omari, head of the Faqqua Village Council, told WAFA that a group of colonists began grazing their livestock on local lands, prompting residents to confront them and attempt to stop the encroachment.
He added that Israeli forces intervened and opened fire at the residents, wounding one man in the leg. Tensions remain high in the area amidst ongoing provocations and attacks by the colonists.
Al-Omari noted that these attacks are part of persistent efforts to pressure residents and drive them away from their lands, thereby threatening their livelihoods and preventing them from accessing their agricultural fields.
