Israeli forces launch large-scale detention campaign in Tulkarm-area town

TULKARM, April 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces launched a large-scale detention campaign in the town of Bal’a, east of Tulkarm, on Tuesday, detaining dozens of young men during a large-scale raid. The raid was accompanied by military reinforcements and a heavy deployment of both foot patrols and armored vehicles throughout the town's streets and neighborhoods.

Local sources told WAFA that the occupation forces raided a large number of homes, thoroughly searching them, and detained dozens of young men after handcuffing and blindfolding them. The detainees were then forced to walk to a military barracks and interrogation center established within the town, following the seizure of the home of Khaled Khader.

The sources added that the raid, which began at 1:00 AM, has been ongoing since then.

The Directorate of Education has suspended in-person classes and switched to online learning to ensure the safety of students.
