Prisoners in 'Mejedo' Appeal to Humanitarian and Lawful Bodies to Improve Their Humanitarian Conditions

JENIN, July 24, 2008, (WAFA) - Palestinian political prisoners in Majedo Israeli jail launched today an outcry for all the lawful and humanitarian bodies to press on the jail's administration services to improve their detention conditions.

In a letter passed on to WAFA, the prisoners imprisoned in section '7' said that the Mejedo's administration deliberately cut off water and allow it only an hour daily for having path.

They added that the prison services suppressed a number of prisoners and moved them to the notorious Negev desert jail and 12 prisoners were deprived familial visitations for no convenient reason.

At present, there are further 11,000 prisoners in Israeli jails, a number which includes 376 children, 118 women, 44 members of the Palestinian Legislative Council and some 800 administrative detainees, official figures said.
