UN General Assembly Adopts Unanimily Pro-Palestinian Resolution
NEW YORK, November 17, 2007, (WAFA)- The second committee (the Financial and Monetary committee) of the United Nations UN General Assembly endorsed Saturday unanimily and with a huge majority a resolution reiterating the alienable rights of the Palestinian people.
143 countries voted for, 7 countries, including Israel, have voted against it while five countries abstained from voting..
The resolution admits the Palestinian people’s right in compensation due to exploiting and destroying his natural resources by the illegal practices of the Israeli authorities against the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) including East Jerusalem.
As well the resolution affirms that the Apartheid Wall constitutes a real breach for the international Law as it deprives the Palestinian people from its natural resources.
The resolution called on Israel not to exploit the natural resources in the OPT including East Jerusalem. Israel, according to the resolution, must cease destroying the most vital bases of the Palestinian people. Israel must abide by its obligations according to the International Law.
