Al-Husseini: The Issue of Prisoners is Human Issue
RAMALLAH, April 12, 2007, (WAFA)- Head of President's Office, Rafiq al-Husseini, reiterated Thursday on the necessity of the release of all prisoners in Israeli jails.
In an address, on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, al-Husseini asserted that the cause of prisoners is a "human cause", mentioning that more than 10000 prisoners in Israeli jails.
His speech came in a public meeting on the occasion of the "Prisoner's Day" in Ramallah.
He called the representatives of the foreign countries to pay attention to the issue of the Palestinian prisoners similar to their attention to the Israeli captured soldier Shalit.
He pointed out that the Palestinian prisoners are "prisoners of war", recalling that a lot of them were not brought to court despite their spending long years in prison.
