RAMALLAH, April 9, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Elections Commission announced on Thursday that the campaigning period for local council elections will begin on Friday morning and continue for 14 days, in accordance with the legally approved electoral timetable.

In a statement, the commission called on electoral lists and candidates to fully comply with the rules and regulations governing election campaigning, in line with the law and relevant instructions, to ensure equal opportunities for all competitors.

It added that the campaigning period, which will run until the evening of April 23, represents a key stage in the democratic process, allowing candidates to present their electoral programs to citizens and encourage them to vote, while enabling voters to review these programs and make informed decisions freely.

The commission stressed the importance of adhering to campaign regulations to preserve the integrity of the electoral process and maintain a competitive environment based on respect for the law.
