AMMAN, April 8, 2026 (WAFA) - Vice President, Hussein al-Sheikh, met today with the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
The Vice President and Jordanian Foreign Minister discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip during the meeting and reaffirmed the necessity of implementing all items of the ceasefire agreement and introducing aid to Gaza in an immediate and sufficient manner.
They reaffirmed the necessity of launching an immediate and effective regional and international movement to halt the illegitimate Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which undermine the two-state solution and kill the chances of achieving a just peace.
They also warned of the catastrophic consequences of Israel's continued annexation of Palestinian lands, expansion of settlements, and attempts to change the existing historical and legal status in occupied Jerusalem and its sanctities, as well as depriving Muslims and Christians of their right to practice their religious rites in their sanctities.
Al-Sheikh and Safadi further emphasized that embodying the independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution, is the only way to achieve peace in the region.
