Arab Leaders End First Day of Summit's Celebrations
RIYADH, March 28, 2007 (WAFA) -- Arab leaders meeting in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, have ended their closed-door session on Wednesday and are due to resume meetings Thursday.
The leaders or their representatives are discussing a variety of political, economic and social issues that aimed at improving the conditions in the Arab world in general.
Tackling the Arab-Israeli conflict, the developments in Lebanon and Iraq and clearing the Middle East from weapons of mass destruction (WMD) are key political issues on the agenda.
Setting a timetable to launch the custom union, completing measures of the free trade zone and a paper presented by Kuwait and Egypt to hold an economic summit are among the economic issues discussed by the Arab leaders.
