Bahrain Welcomes Formation of National Unity Government
MANAMA, March 16, 2007 (WAFA) - The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the formation of the national unity government which was declared by President Mahmoud Abbas and PM Ismael Haniyya on Thursday.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BAN) Bahraini FM Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khlifa said the newly formed Government came to crown Mecca Agreement which was reached under the auspice of King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia.
He called on the international community and the Quartet in particular to cooperate with the new government and help it end the siege imposed by Israeli so as to enable the Palestinian to achieve peace and stability.
Sjeikh Kalid also urged all Palestinian factions to unify their ranks in order to achieve the aspired independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
