Army shuts down main road to the north of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, December 11, 2017 (WAFA) – The Israeli army used cement blocks to cut off the main road connecting Ramallah to Jalazoun refugee camp and the northern West Bank, according to local sources.

They said closure of the road forced Palestinian cars commuting on that road to search for alternative and longer routes, causing traffic jams and long delays.

The cement blocks were placed near the illegal settlement and army camp of Beit El, built on Ramallah district land.

Residents said the road was blocked as part of Israel’s collective punishment against the Palestinian civilian population following a shooting at an army post guarding the settlement overlooking the refugee camp. No one was hurt and no damage was caused in the shooting.
