RAMALLAH, July 20, 2016 (WAFA) – Killing a 12-year-old Palestinian boy by Israeli forces during clashes in the Jerusalem town of al-Ram hit the front page headlines in Palestinian dailies.

The three dailies said Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian by in the Jerusalem town of al-Ram.

It is worth noting in this regard that the boy, identified as Muhye al-Tabbakhi, was killed after being struck in the heart by a rubber-coated steel bullet fired by Israeli forces.

The three dailies also reported that a Palestinian man succumbed to his wounds he sustained after being shot and critically injured by Israeli forces.

It is worth noting in this respect that Mustafa Baradiya, who comes from the Hebron town of Surif, was Monday shot and critically injured by Israeli forces following an alleged stabbing attack at the entrance of al-Arrub refugee camp, north of Hebron.

It should also be stressed that the circumstances around the killing remain unclear and are largely based on the Israeli version of events.

The three dailies also said Israeli bulldozers, escorted by Israeli forces, demolished several residential and commercial structures in the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Silwan and Beit Hanina.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said Israeli forces handed demolition notices for 16 Palestinian houses and structures to the south of Nablus.

The three dailies added employees of Israel’s Antiquity Authority demolished Palestinian graves at Bab al-Rahma cemetery, alongside the eastern wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, citing “unlicensed building” as a pretext.

Al-Quds highlighted the UNESCO’s postponement of a vote on a draft resolution concerning Israeli violations in Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Apparently refuting Israeli claims that the vote was postponed following an Israeli request, al-Quds reported Kuwait’s permanent delegate to UNESCO Meshal Hayat as stating that the majority of member states of UNESCO would vote in favor of designating the mosque as an Islamic-only site.

The three dailies also highlighted President Mahmoud Abbas’ remarks during his visit to Sudan.

Abbas was reported as expressing his solidarity with Sudan against iniquitous sanctions.

Moreover, al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported that eight European ambassadors to Israel accused Israeli military of the forceful displacement of 75 Palestinians in the West Bank by seizing their EU-funded caravans.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam highlighted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s ongoing crackdown or “clean-up operations” on Turkish soldiers and generals accused of plotting the coup attempt.

Al-Quds said Turkey expanded the “clean-up operations” to include education, religious affairs, intelligence, and Prime Minister’s Office.

Al-Ayyam explained in this respect that a total of 15,000 teachers were suspended from their work, news  reporters were also suspended and news outlets were closed.

Finally, al-Hayat al-Jadida reported Secretary-General of President’s Office At-Tayyib Abdul-Rahim as stating that political prospects are blocked as a result of Israeli occupation government’s policies.
