BETHLEHEM, February 17, 2016 (WAFA) - A young man was shot and injured with a live round during clashes that erupted as Palestinians rallied in support of hunger-striking detainee at the southern entrance of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem.
Clashes broke out at al-Nashnash crossroads in the southern Bethlehem as Palestinians rallied in support of hunger-striking detainee Muhammad al-Qiq.
During clashes, Israeli forces fired live rounds, tear gas canisters and stun grenades at demonstrators, hitting and injuring a demonstrator in the thigh.
The injured man was rushed into a Bethlehem hospital for treatment.
Al-Qiq, 33, started a hunger strike in late November to protest his administrative detention without trial or charge.
Similar clashes erupted in Duheisha refugee camp, south of Bethlehem. No injuries were reported.
