RAMALLAH, February 16, 2016 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies Tuesday focused on remarks made by President Mahmoud Abbas, during his official visit to Japan, in which he called on countries to adopt a collective mechanism to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam said Japan pledged $78 million in support of the Palestinian Authority’s budget.
On a different subject, the three dailies reported that dozens of Palestinian teenagers were injured ]by live Israeli bullets[ during clashes in al-Ama’ari refugee camp in Ramallah.
Al-Ayyam added that several other Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces from the camp.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem notified to demolish Palestinian-owned structures and seize lands in the neighborhoods of at-Tour and al-Issawiya in Jerusalem.
The two dailies also reported Israeli authorities demolished Palestinian private-owned dwellings in Khirbet Ayn al-Rushrash, south of Nablus. Al-Quds added that authorities confiscated two homes in Kharbatha al-Misbah, west of Ramallah.
Al-Quds said hunger striking Palestinian detainee Mohammad al-Qiq has reached a very critical health condition, following 83 days of hunger strike against administrative detention.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said the Supreme Court of Israel offered to transfer al- from Israeli Afula hospital to al-Makassed hospital in Jerusalem. Al-Quds added in this regard that al-Qiq refused the court transfer offer.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam said the UK government banned all state-funded institutions from boycotting Israeli products.
