Update: Israeli Forces Detain 23 Palestinians from West Bank

RAMALLAH, February 15, 2016 (WAFA) - Israeli forces overnight and early morning detained 18 Palestinians mostly during predawn raids into several West Bank districts, bringing the total number of Palestinians detained in one day to 23.

Five Palestinians were detained from Ramallah and al-Bireh district, six others from Nablus district, three others from Bethlehem district, two others from Jerusalem district and two others from Hebron district.

Israeli forces detained five Palestinians during a predawn raid across the Ramallah refugee camp of al-Am‘ari, east of the city.

The detainees were identified as Diya’, Baha’ and Wesam Jaber, Da’oud Habbub and Nasser al-Heizi.

Israeli forces detained six Palestinians after breaking into and ransacking their family houses in ‘Asira al-Qibliya, a town to the south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

They were identified as Yazan ‘Asayra, 20, ‘Abdul-Fattah ahmad, ‘Abed Saleh, 22, Ra’ed Hamdan, ‘Ala’ Abu-Zanat and Fares Halawa.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, forces detained three Palestinians identified as Ayman Soboh, 42, Haitham Khlaif, 29, and Tamer Abu Dayyeh, 29.

Police detained Ahmad Laqyaneh and Bara’ Rashid after storming and ransacking their family houses in Beit Iksa village and Qalandiya refugee camp, to the northwest and north of Jerusalem respectively.

In the southern West Bank district of Hebron, forces detained two Palestinians identified as Faleh al-Razem, 16, and Tha’er Abu Sundus.

This brought the total number of Palestinians detained since Monday overnight to 23.
