(UPDATE) Israeli Troops Fatally Shoot Teen near Hebron

HEBRON, February 10, 2016 (WAFA) - Israeli forces Wednesday shot dead a Palestinian teen during clashes in al-‘Arrub refugee camp, north of Hebron, in the southern West Bank, according to Palestinian medical sources.

Palestinian medics at al-Mizan hospital in Hebron said that Omar Jawabra, 16 years old, was shot in the chest and head with two live steel rounds, and was rushed into the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed on its official Facebook page that Jawabra succumbed to his wounds.

Israeli forces reportedly fired tear gas canisters, rubber-coated steel bullets and live rounds during the clashes in the Hebron camp.

At least 170 Palestinians, including  35 children and eight women, have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of unrest in the occupied Palestinian territories in early October 2015. At least 14.913 injuries were documented.

Last week, Israeli forces imposed a three-day lockdown on the town of Qabatiya, near the West Bank district of Jenin, following a fatal stabbing and shooting attack that was carried out by three of the town’s locals in Jerusalem, claiming the life of a female police officer.
