JERUSALEM, February 10, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight Wednesday detained 17 Palestinians, including at least a minor, and summoned two others during predawn raids across the West Bank districts, said security sources.

Forces detained ten Palestinians from Jerusalem district, six others from Bethlehem district and another from Jenin district. Two Palestinians from Bethlehem and Jenin districts were also summoned.

In Jerusalem, Israeli police broke into Sur Bahir, a town to the south of the city, where they detained three Palestinians, identified as Luqman ‘Attun, Mus‘ab ‘Ilayyan and Basel Tarshan, after raiding and ransacking their family houses.

Forces also detained two Palestinians during a raid into al-‘Eizariya town, southeast of the city. They were identified as Muhammad Hammad, 19, and Baha’ Bassa, 17.

Israeli troops detained Muhammad Wahish, 18, after storming and ransacking his family house in the neighboring town of Abu Dis.

Three other Palestinians were detained during a predawn raid into Qalandiya refugee camp, north of the city after ransacking their family houses. The detainees were identified as Muhammad, Rajab and ‘Atef Mteir.

This came several hours after undercover Israeli forces kidnapped a Palestinian from a popular coffee shop in the camp, sparking clashes with local Palestinian youths. The detainee was identified as Nasim Mteir, 27, a former detainee.

Israeli police further stormed the town of Issawiya, on the outskirts of Jerusalem, where they detained Udai Mustafa, 14, and Ahmad Durbas, two local minors. They were led to a nearby interrogation center.

Meanwhile in Bethlehem, forces detained three Palestinians and summoned another during a predawn raid into Duheisha refugee camp, south of the city. The detainees were identified as Muhammad Zawahra, 25, ‘Ali at-Tus, 19, and Mahmoud as-Sweiti, 24.

During the raid, forces handed Salem al-Masri, 24, a notice ordering him to appear before intelligence in the Gush Etzion detention and interrogation center.

Forces fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades at locals during clashes that reportedly erupted during the raid. Several locals suffocated from excessive tear gas inhalation.

Three other Palestinians were detained from Nahhalin village, southwest of the city, who were identified as Mahmoud Najajra, 50, and his son, Nathem, 27, and Ahmad Najajra, 22.

This came as Israeli forces continued to lock down the village for the second day in a row searching for a Palestinian suspected of allegedly stabbing a settler from a nearby settlement.

In the meantime in Jenin, forces detained a Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking his family house from Jenin refugee camp. The detainee was identified as ‘Abdul-Salam Abul-Haija, 39.

Forces summoned another Palestinian after interrogating him in Kufr Ra‘i, a village to the south of the city. They handed Bilal Dheyab, a former detainee, a notice ordering him to turn himself to intelligence in Salem detention and interrogation center after storming his family house and his brother’s.
