JERUSALEM, February 10, 2016 (WAFA) – Many Palestinians were injured during clashes that broke out with Israeli police throughout several neighbourhoods in the East Jerusalem town of Silwan late Tuesday night.
According to Wadi Hilweh Information Center, Israeli police forces stormed an area in Ein al-Lozeh neighbourhood in Silwan, provocatively deployed throughout its streets and alleys, leading to clashes.
Forces used rubber baton rounds, stun grenades, and tear gas canisters against Palestinians, causing many to suffocate due to tear gas inhalation.
Witnesses reported that forces ‘deliberately’ targeted Palestinians’ homes with tear gas. Clashes reportedly spread to nearby neighbourhoods, and lasted until late at night.
