RAMALLAH, October 22, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian NGOs Network warned of escalating attacks and violations by Israeli occupation forces and colonists against the Palestinian people, threatening civilians’ lives and targeting the foundations of their resilience and continued presence on their land.
It called for urgent international action to protect Palestinians and hold those responsible for these violations accountable.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the network stressed that continued attacks on Palestinians, their property, and their livelihoods, amid the absence of effective international measures, require a shift from statements of condemnation and denunciation to practical steps that ensure the protection of the Palestinian people and respect for their fundamental rights, foremost among them the rights to life, security, freedom, and a dignified life on their land.
The network expressed concern over attacks and threats targeting international solidarity activists, delegations, human rights figures, and humanitarian and human rights institutions, as well as efforts to obstruct their work in the occupied Palestinian territory.
It stressed that targeting these individuals, endangering their safety, or intimidating them because of their solidarity with the Palestinian people is extremely serious. It emphasized the need to ensure their protection, respect relevant international rules, and enable them to carry out their work freely and safely.
The network noted that continued violations against Palestinians, alongside the risks facing international delegations, diplomats, and missions in the occupied Palestinian territory, underscore the urgent need for serious and effective international measures to protect civilians, safeguard the security of diplomatic missions, strengthen accountability, and end impunity.
It called on the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention, to convene an urgent meeting to put an end to Israel’s ongoing violations against the Palestinian people.
The network also urged the United Nations and the international community to act immediately to provide international protection for Palestinians, halt attacks and violations against civilians, and ensure the safety of international solidarity activists, delegations, and human rights and humanitarian institutions, rejecting any targeting, intimidation, or obstruction of their work.
It called for the activation of independent international mechanisms to monitor and document violations and for an enhanced international presence in areas vulnerable to attacks to help protect civilians and curb violations, while ensuring that those responsible are held accountable under international law and do not enjoy impunity.
The network urged states and international institutions to take urgent, practical steps to enforce international law, protect Palestinian civilians, safeguard their rights and dignity, and ensure compliance with relevant legal obligations.
It stressed that protecting the Palestinian people is a legal and moral responsibility incumbent on the international community. It emphasized that international protection can no longer be delayed and requires serious and responsible international action to translate legal and humanitarian commitments into concrete measures on the ground, protect civilians, and hold those responsible for violations accountable.
