Several suffocate in Israeli army raid in Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, October 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians on Wednesday suffocated from tear gas in an Israeli army raid in Bethlehem’s Aida refugee camp, according to a local source.

Mohammad al-Adouin, head of the camp’s Popular Services Committee, told WAFA that Israeli occupation forces barged their way into the northern entrance of the city and used concrete blocks to seal off the main Jerusalem–Hebron road, adjacent to Jacir Palace Hotel.

He added that the gun-toting soldiers unleashed barrages of tear gas canisters, causing several Palestinians to suffer excessive tear gas inhalation.

All suffocation cases received treatment at the scene.
