JENIN, October 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Thursday closed the Deir Ghazaleh road from the Jenin city side and secondary entrances along the bypass road, while closing most of the gates leading to villages in the eastern part of the governorate.
Tareq Ighbariyah, the Jenin governorate official in charge of the colonial settlement file, said Israeli forces prevented farmers from reaching their land in the town of Bartaa as part of military measures restricting movement and denying residents access to their agricultural land.
He added that Israeli forces continued, for the second consecutive day, to level Palestinian-owned land to construct a colonial road linking the illegal Israeli colonies of Homesh and Tarsela. The work has cut off the main paved road connecting the towns of Silat al-Dhahr and al-Attara, south of Jenin.
Ighbariyah noted that the closure of roads and entrances, combined with intensified movement restrictions, severely hinders residents’ travel and complicates farmers’ access to their lands, as land leveling for colonial roads continues across the governorate.
