Colonists steal 17 bags of olive crops and harvesting equipment near Ya'bad west of Jenin

JENIN, October 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists stole 17 bags of harvested olives along with specialized harvesting equipment on Thursday in Khirbet al-Mak'hul, near the town of Ya'bad, west of Jenin, according to local sources.

Sources reported that colonists attacked farmers working in the area. Two vehicles carrying colonists surrounded the farmers while they were picking olives, forcing them to abandon their harvest. The colonists then seized and stole the bags.

The sources added that the stolen gear included electric motors, hoses, and harvesting sheets.

The incident comes amid escalating colonist attacks on Palestinian olive pickers and their property across the occupied West Bank during the olive harvest season, often carried out under the protection of or with the participation of Israeli occupation forces.

The Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) documented 409 attacks by Israeli occupation forces and colonists against olive farmers, their trees, lands, and agricultural equipment between October 1 and 21, including 317 carried out by colonists and 92 by Israeli forces.

The attacks have included physical assaults, threats, preventing farmers from accessing their land, stealing olive crops and harvesting equipment, and damaging or uprooting trees.
