JEDDAH, July 22, 2026 (WAFA) - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the decisions by the Belgian and Dutch governments to ban the import of products originating from illegal Israeli "settlements" established on occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.
The General Secretariat considered this decision a well-deserved legal and political achievement, embodies the principles of international justice, and is consistent with the rules of international law, the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, and resolutions of international legitimacy, foremost among which is Security Council Resolution No. 2334, which affirms the illegality of settlements and the necessity of an immediate and complete cessation of all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
The General Secretariat renewed its call on all countries of the world and the international community to follow the lead of this resolution and take all practical and legislative measures to prohibit all economic, financial, and service-related activities linked to the Israeli occupation authorities and their "colonial system" in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
