RAMALLAH, July 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh on Wednesday welcomed the decisions by Belgium and the Netherlands to ban the import of illegal Israeli settlement products.
Al Sheikh described the move as an important step that is consistent with international law, the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which affirmed the illegality of settlements, and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
He called on all countries to adopt similar measures to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its escalating and illegal policies in the territory of the occupied State of Palestine, while urging further effective steps to halt colonist terrorism, which he said has crossed all boundaries by targeting the lives, trees, and property of Palestinian citizens.
