National and Islamic Forces stress importance of successful national dialogue to achieve unity and strengthen Palestinian steadfastness

RAMALLAH, October 19, 2026 (WAFA) – The National and Islamic Forces stressed the importance of ensuring the success of comprehensive national dialogue to achieve national unity that strengthens the steadfastness and resistance of the Palestinian people and protects them, their land, and Islamic and Christian holy sites from ongoing Israeli aggression.

This comes amid the ongoing genocidal war, destruction, killing, and siege in the Gaza Strip, as well as military checkpoints, detentions, collective punishment, ethnic cleansing, and terrorist attacks by colonists in the West Bank.

During a meeting held on Monday, the forces stressed that threats by Israeli occupation officials, including the defense minister, to deny the Palestinian people their legitimate rights form part of the comprehensive war waged against them. They said these threats reflect the occupation’s refusal to recognize or implement international legitimacy resolutions, underscoring the need for the international community to impose sanctions and a boycott on the occupation and hold it accountable for its escalating crimes.

The forces commended the positions of peoples and countries around the world that stand with the Palestinian people, support their struggle, reject the continuation of aggression, and impose sanctions on colonists and their products, among other measures. They stressed that the escalating aggression and continued crimes of the occupation necessitate a comprehensive boycott.

They also noted that escalating crimes against Palestinian prisoners, particularly the continued policies of killing, abuse, isolation, starvation, and medical neglect, constitute ongoing attempts to break their will and undermine their steadfastness.

The forces called on international, human rights, and humanitarian institutions, particularly the International Committee of the Red Cross, to fulfill their responsibilities by holding the occupation accountable for its crimes and working to ensure the protection of prisoners held in its prisons. They held the occupation fully responsible for these crimes.

The forces underscored the importance of holding legislative and presidential elections, scheduled for September, and continuing efforts to ensure the successful election of the Palestinian National Council. They stressed that the occupation’s aggression had prevented the elections from being held in November this year.

They further emphasized that serious and genuine international pressure to halt the occupation’s aggressive policies, killing, destruction, and siege is essential to ensuring that elections can be held at any time.
