RAMALLAH, October 21, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces raided two schools in the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, on Wednesday, entering classrooms during the first lesson and causing panic among students.

Tayseer Abu Mufreh, director of the Tuqu’ municipality, told WAFA that Israeli forces stormed al-Khansa Preparatory School for Boys and al-Jarmaq Preparatory School for Girls in the Khirbet al-Deir area in the town center. Soldiers entered classrooms during lessons, sparking fear and panic among students.

Abu Mufreh said the forces threatened students and teaching staff with punitive measures and warned that both schools could be shut down.

Before withdrawing, the forces seized Palestinian flags, he added.
