RAMALLAH, July 22, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that Israeli occupation forces detained at least 25 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

The society said those detained included five women from the governorates of Tubas, Tulkarm, Hebron, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem, in addition to 15 workers from the Gaza Strip who were detained in the Qalqilya governorate.

It affirmed that the occupation continues to intensify detention campaigns and field interrogations at an accelerating pace since the start of the genocide, alongside the increased targeting of Palestinians in several areas amid colonist attacks. It said these practices form part of a systematic policy targeting various segments of Palestinian society and fall within the framework of collective punishment and retaliatory measures.

In the same context, the society pointed to a significant escalation in the targeting of women through ongoing detention campaigns, including holding them as hostages, raiding homes during nighttime hours, subjecting them to harsh interrogation methods, and increasing detentions under the pretext of what the occupation claims is "incitement" on social media platforms.

PPS said this reflects a dangerous escalation in which the detention of women is being used as a tool of pressure and collective punishment.

The society added that Israeli occupation authorities continue to carry out daily detention campaigns across the occupied West Bank as part of a consistent and systematic policy, with the number of detention cases since the start of the genocide exceeding 24,000.

It said this escalation comes amid the continued expansion of detention and field interrogation policies and the targeting of various segments of Palestinian society, including women, children, and freed detainees.
