Prime Minister discusses workers’ conditions and support measures with union delegation

RAMALLAH, May 2, 2026 (WAFA) — Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met on Saturday with a delegation from the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, headed by Secretary-General Shaher Saad, in the presence of Labor Minister Enas al-Attari, to discuss the situation of Palestinian workers and ways to strengthen their resilience amid mounting challenges.

The meeting addressed the deepening crisis facing the labor sector, including declining job opportunities, movement restrictions, and growing economic pressures. Participants also reviewed efforts by the Ministry of Labor and the federation to expand employment programs and vocational training aimed at reducing unemployment, protecting workers’ rights, and reinforcing resilience.

Mustafa stressed that the government is not limiting its role to crisis management but is working to expand practical interventions, intensify support programs for workers, and build up social protection tools, alongside efforts to restore workers’ rights and create new employment opportunities despite existing complexities.

In a related context, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation, particularly with the International Labour Organization, to expand technical support.
