RAMALLAH, February 5, 2026 (WAFA) — The Palestinian Presidency welcomed on Thursday the Lebanese Ministry of Health’s decision to issue professional licenses for Palestinian nurses.
In a statement, the Presidency expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Health, the Nurses Syndicate, and various civil society institutions in reaching the decision, which is expected to alleviate the hardships faced by Palestinians in Lebanon.
The statement also commended the ongoing work of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee in addressing legal issues related to the rights of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, particularly the right to work within the framework of existing laws, emphasizing that this stance aligns with Lebanon’s consistent support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.
The Presidency noted that the decision follows President Mahmoud Abbas’s important visit to Lebanon last May, which resulted in a joint Palestinian-Lebanese presidential statement committing to improve living conditions for refugees while respecting Lebanese sovereignty and laws.
The statement affirmed the commitment of both sides to “providing necessary conditions to ensure Palestinian refugees in Lebanon can live with dignity without compromising their right of return or their national identity.”
