DAVOS, January 22, 2026 (WAFA) — On the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met today with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, in the presence of the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Switzerland and the United Nations in Geneva, Ibrahim Khraishi.
Prime Minister Mustafa expressed his appreciation to Spain for its steadfast and continued support for the State of Palestine and the Palestinian people at all levels.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the latest developments in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and discussed ways to intensify international efforts to halt attacks by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers, secure the release of Palestinian funds withheld by Israel, and continue implementing reconstruction programmes in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. They also underscored the important role of Europe in this regard.
Both sides affirmed the political and legal authority of the institutions of the State of Palestine in the Gaza Strip, and the necessity of unifying them with the West Bank as a step toward realizing the Palestinian state in line with international legitimacy resolutions, including the New York Declaration.
The meeting also addressed areas of joint coordination and ways to further enhance Spain’s political, diplomatic, and financial support for the State of Palestine.
