PM discusses developments in Palestine with Irish counterpart

DAVOS, January 22, 2026 (WAFA) — Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met today, Thursday, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin. 

During the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa briefed his counterpart on the latest developments in Palestine, particularly ongoing efforts to soldify the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to scale up the entry of humanitarian assistance, in addition to the escalating Israeli violations in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Mustafa outlined the continued Israeli escalation in the West Bank, settler attacks, the demolition of UNRWA facilities in East Jerusalem, and the financial crisis facing the Palestinian Government. He stressed the importance of Europe’s role in exerting pressure to halt all Israeli measures and in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.

For his part, the Irish Prime Minister reaffirmed Ireland’s support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, as well as Ireland’s continued humanitarian and relief assistance to the Gaza Strip. He underscored the need to intensify efforts to achieve a political solution based on the two-State solution.
