PM Mustafa meets UNOPS delegation to strengthen humanitarian and relief efforts

RAMALLAH, January 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa received, on Wednesday at his office in Ramallah, a delegation from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), headed by Executive Director Jorge Moreira da Silva. The meeting focused on ways to enhance ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as preparations for implementing the first phase of recovery and reconstruction.

Prime Minister Mustafa stressed that the current challenges require intensified coordination and joint efforts between the Government, the international community, and donors. 

He underscored the need to exert pressure to ensure the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions regarding the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the opening of all border crossings with the Strip, and the commencement of recovery and reconstruction efforts. 

Mustafa also emphasized the importance of reunifying the West Bank and Gaza Strip under a single leadership and governance framework, and ensuring that all efforts align with Palestinian national priorities.

The meeting also addressed the importance of supporting and rehabilitating the health sector, providing mobile clinics in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, ensuring the availability of renewable energy sources and fuel supplies in the Strip, removing rubble and unexploded ordnance, and facilitating the entry of reconstruction materials and temporary shelter supplies.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Health Majed Abu Ramadan, Minister of Public Works and Housing Ahed Bseiso, Minister of Social Development Samah Hamad, and Director of the Government Communication Center Mohammad Abu Al-Rob.
