HEBRON, Sunday, June 19, 2022 (WAFA) – A Palestinian worker was injured by Israeli gunfire and another one sustained fractures after being chased by Israeli occupation soldiers near the town of Tarqumia, in the occupied West Bank province of Hebron, according to Palestinian security sources.
The sources told WAFA that Israeli soldiers opened gunfire at Palestinian workers near Tarqumia military checkpoint while on their way to their workplaces inside Israel, injuring one of them by a live shot in his foot.
Another worker sustained fractured after he fell on the ground while being chased by the soldiers, the sources added. The two were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Palestinian workers in the occupied West Bank usually opt for alternative routes to avoid overcrowding at major Israeli checkpoints in their daily journey to their workplaces, and are often attacked by Israeli soldiers whenever they try to cross the Israeli segregation barrier.
