RAMALLAH, Monday, November 22, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Monday dawn attacked a number of Palestinian houses in Urif village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, according to a local activist.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors Israeli colonial settlement activities in the northern West Bank, said that a group of settlers hurled rocks at a Palestinian neighborhood, east of the village, smashing the their windows and shattering the windshields of a vehicle.

The assailants came from Yitzhar, a colonial settlement notorious for its hardcore religious community.

Meanwhile, settlers, under military protection, hurled rocks and empty bottles at Palestinian vehicles travelling along the Jenin-Nablus Road, close to Silat ad-Dhahr town, southwest of Jenin on Monday overnight.

Similar settlers attacks were reported on the Nablus-Ramallah Road, the Qalqiliya-Nablus Road and along the roads connecting the southern Nablus countryside to the city on Sunday.

Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Settlers‘ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

There are over 700,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
