Palestinians in Nablus-area village receive 12 Israeli stop-construction orders

NABLUS, Monday, October 25, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities notified to stop the construction work on 12 houses in the village of Duma to the south of the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, according to a local activist.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors Israeli settlement activities in the north of the West Bank, said Israeli forces stormed Duma village and handed residents notices ordering them to stop the construction work on 12 houses that are still under construction, under the pretext they were built in Area C, which is under full Israeli rule, and without an Israeli permit.

Israel denies planning permits for Palestinians to build on their own land or to extend existing houses to accommodate natural growth, particularly in occupied East Jerusalem and in Area C, which constitutes 60 percent of the occupied West Bank and falls under full Israeli military rule, forcing residents to build without obtaining rarely-granted permits to provide shelters for their families.
